TACIT IN ACTION — COMPANION WALKTHROUGH This video tours the live WELD interface and uses simplified motion diagrams to explain the protocol. It uses an unfunded, disposable demo identity. No deposit, private send, withdrawal or bounty submission was broadcast. The private-balance lookup was unavailable during capture; an unavailable balance is not a zero balance. 1. Open https://tacit.finance/weld/ and choose Get started. WELD groups Private ETH, Bitcoin payments and other Tacit tools on one page. 2. Choose an identity method. The sign-in dialog offers Ethereum wallet, Bitcoin wallet and passkey options. Ethereum sign-in uses a message signature and costs no gas. The same identity signature controls the Tacit wallet, so sign only in a trusted Tacit app. Protect your key or passkey backup. The capture uses a fresh disposable imported key, entered off-camera; the video shows the real sign-in choices. 3. Open Private ETH, then choose Tacit pool. This route makes ETH private as tETH notes and supports the displayed Make private, Send and Withdraw tabs. The adjacent On this device route is a different pool; do not assume every pool uses the same proof or payment flow. 4. If you intend to fund the pool, choose Make private and enter an amount. Check the selected funding source, available ETH, quote and relay fees. Confirm the deposit through the selected source. Leave room for applicable transaction and relay fees. Wait for deposit confirmation and note settlement before treating the deposit as a spendable private balance. If the app reports a balance lookup error, retry the lookup before sending; do not infer that the balance is zero. The video stops before a funded deposit and illustrates the note model separately. 5. To use the Tacit pool's Send route, enter the recipient's Tacit address or a supported name. Verify the resolved recipient, amount and fees before confirming Send privately. The recipient claims the payment in their Tacit wallet; the claim's relay fee is deducted from the payment. The current interface says an unclaimed payment can be reclaimed after 90 days. This claim flow applies to the Tacit pool shown, not every Tacit payment route. The video shows the unfilled live form and performs no send. 6. To practice Bitcoin-side steps, open https://tacit.finance/sats and select signet. Open Secret payment. The interface lists Get signet sats, Get private cBTC, Pay privately, Receive, Exit and Back to sats. Use the test environment's wallet and faucet instructions. Signet cBTC is a fixed-supply test token with no BTC backing; signet sats are test coins. Secret Sats' specialized pool spends are proved in the browser. Mainnet carries real assets and uses different availability/asset settings. 7. Check the privacy boundary for the selected route. Hidden information includes confidential amounts, owned notes consumed by pool spends and stealth recipients. Public information includes deposit/withdrawal boundaries, Bitcoin addresses and transaction graph, asset IDs, AMM reserves and their changes, and CDP position amounts. ZK proofs validate protocol rules; they do not erase all public chain metadata. Consult the pool-specific security documentation and trust assumptions. PROTOCOL EXPLANATION A note is a private claim to funds. A confidential spend consumes valid owned notes and creates valid outputs. Proofs let verifiers check the relevant rules without exposing the hidden values. In Tacit's general confidential pool, SP1 proofs reconcile cross-chain facts and state. Secret Sats uses specialized circuits, including a Bitcoin shielded pool with Halo2/KZG and a separate EVM ETH pool with Groth16. The simplified diagram in this film does not claim that all these pools use one proof system. ADDED CHECKPOINT AND HONORABLE MENTIONS Before sending: verify the official app, selected pool, resolved recipient and fees. Wait for deposit confirmation and note settlement. A failed balance lookup does not mean zero; retry it. Keep the wallet/passkey recovery method safe. ross.wei, Tacit creator: https://x.com/z0r0zzz (linked from https://github.com/z0r0z). XNS: https://xns.name/ and https://x.com/xnsname. XNS provides human-readable wallet names; this credit does not assert that every Tacit route integrates XNS. Verify name resolution in the selected app. The revised film lasts four minutes. For Buffer/X, Part 1 covers setup through private send; Part 2 starts at Secret Sats and includes privacy, checklist and credits. Both parts are under 140 seconds. The hosted guide plays the complete film.
